We've been enjoying a lovely weather here, with doors and windows open every single day to let in the breeze. I truly cannot remember if it rained once through the last couple of weeks. It doesn't happen often. Last time a stretch of summer this nice and this long was the first year we moved back to Britain, and that was about 7 years ago. 7 years is a really long time. I for once cannot wait until kids' schools break for summer so that they can spend more time with their friends in the garden.
And just in time for summer, with many thanks to my lovely tech editor, the green cardigan is here! I thought School's Out a fitting name for it, since it's coming out in the peak of this glorious summer.

School's Out, a lightweight, elegant summer cardigan is now here. It is worked from the top down seamlessly with raglan shoulder shaping, using fingering weight yarn. Larger sizes also feature a touch of waist shaping at the back for a fited look. The front band is knitted on after the body is finished.
The pattern is written to fit chest circumference: 21 (22 ½, 24, 25 ½, 27, 28 ½, 30) in / 53.5 (57, 61, 65, 68.5, 72.5, 76) cm and is designed to be worn with about 2 in / 5cm of positive ease, please refer to the schematic for exact measurements.
Substitute with approximately 380 (400, 425, 450, 480, 500, 530) yards / 340 (360, 390, 410, 430, 450, 480) metres of fingering/sock weight yarn.
The sample is worked in Waratah Fibres Hand Dyed 4ply (50% wool / 50% silk; 100g / 440 yards / 400 m), green; 1 (1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2) skeins.
