Iola


The first day of spring was christened with hail and bright sunshine. It's getting warmer, my garden needs attention and my patterns need sorting out.
I present you with Iola. Made with Aran weight drapey cotton, with a continuous cable pattern throughout.
SKILL LEVEL
Intermediate – basic cabling, knitting in the round, simple decreases and increases and finishing.
TO FIT SIZE
Head circumference 20 (22, 24) inches / 51 (56, 61) cm.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Brim circumference unstretched 18 ½ (20, 21 ½) inches / 47 (51, 54.5) cm.
MATERIALS
Approximately 150 (165, 180) yards / 135 (150, 165) metres of Worsted or Aran weight yarn which knits to the specified gauge.

GAUGE
24 sts = 4 inches / 10 cm in stitch pattern knit in the round with size 5mm (US8) needles.
NOTIONS
Size 4mm (US6) double pointed needles.
Size 5mm (US8) circular needle.
Adjust needle size to get the correct gauge if necessary.
Stitch marker, cable needle, tapestry needle.
