Clemence

Clemence is an easy and quick project that's knit in a round with the lace pattern worked every round. The yarn I used is Cashsoft Aran by Rowan RYC. It is a soft aran weight yarn which is a mix of cashmere, merino and microfiber. Great yarn, but I think due to the high microfiber content the edges were rolling in like they would on the stocking stitch piece, that's why you might need to add backing to stop the rolling, depending on the fiber content of your yarn.

SKILL LEVEL
Adventurous beginner – simple lace, knitting in the round, simple finishing.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Circumference 18 ¾ (21)” / 48 (53.25) cm and 5 ½“ / 14 cm high.
MATERIALS
One 50g ball of Aran weight yarn for a lace shell and another 50g ball for lining. Shown in Cashsoft Aran (57% extra fine merino / 33% microfibre / 10% cashmere) by RYC 87m (95yds)/50g ball.
GAUGE
19 sts and 25 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in Stocking stitch knit in the round.
NOTIONS
Size 4.5mm (US7) circular needle. Adjust needle size to get the correct gauge if necessary.

  3. Hi there,
I just finished making your lovely cowl pattern and I love it! I posted a pic on my blog with a link back to yours. The size is just perfect -- so many cowls are too loose and floppy -- not yours.
    Thanks so much for sharing!
